PENdulum Global is best known for its pen pal program, which connects young adults in the United States with vulnerable adolescents in developing nations. This form of longitudinal mentorship is meant to give these adolescents the opportunity to become motivated towards bright futures, to fuel their passions, and to encourage them to explore and innovate within their local communities. But what happens when the pen pal program ends, when the adolescents "graduate" from the program? Where does all that empowerment go?
We've recognized that motivating and empowering youth is futile without giving the tools to support that growth. So we've established a service component to the pen pal program, wherein graduating adolescents will have the chance to brainstorm a entrepreneurial or community service project that they each want to undertake. After close evaluation of the ideas by our team at PENdulum Global, we will provide resources (money, supplies, support, you name it) to make those projects a reality. Our adolescents will not just be empowered; they will act on it as well!
That's all for this post; Stay tuned for more blog posts!
